Let warehouse workers use the processes they already know
Kit assembly is performed through the D365 Warehouse Management mobile app using normal warehouse work. Workers are guided through the correct locations, items, quantities, and license plates, with barcode validation throughout the process. If the system says six are available but only five are physically on the shelf, the worker can use the standard D365 short-pick and work-exception process instead of leaving the Kittix workflow.
Build kits around the way your warehouses actually operate
Some organizations assemble everything in one warehouse. Others need several warehouses to contribute material to the same maintenance job. Kittix supports both approaches. Kits can remain warehouse specific, or material picked in satellite warehouses can be moved into a central warehouse so the technician has one place to pick up the completed kit.
Give technicians the flexibility to take what they actually need
Technicians have the ability to pick up all assembled parts in the kit or take only the parts they know they need from the kit. Kittix records who picked up the material, what they took, and how much they took, giving the warehouse a clear history of what left the kit and who received it.
Get unused parts back where they belong
When a technician does not use everything that was picked up for the job, the unused material can be returned through the Kittix return process. Because Kittix retains the history of where the material was originally picked, the warehouse can be directed to return it to the correct inventory location. If the part originally came from another warehouse, Kittix can coordinate the movements needed to get it back there.
Keep the process moving when reality does not match the system
Warehouse inventory is not always exactly where D365 expects it to be. Workers may short pick during assembly, technicians may take only part of a kit, and assembled material can occasionally go missing before pickup.
